“Time waits for no man” is definitely a very true statement. The end of July is already upon us even though it feels like this year began just a few short weeks ago. The new Masonic year which did begin just a few short weeks ago is off to a great start. On our first regular communication this month, I was honored to sit in the East for the first time as WM:. Bro. Danny McHale was taking a well deserved vacation. A big thanks to everyone for taking it easy on me. On our second regular communication we conferred the Entered Apprentice degree on John Clowdus. Congratulations Bro. John and welcome to the Masonic fraternity. I also want to thank the brothers who came out on Saturday, July 12th and helped with clean up, cutting the weeds, and trimming the bushes around the outside of the lodge. It looked 100% better when we finished up. Be sure to thank Bro. Phil Gamble, Bro. Harvey Eddie, Bro. Anthony Turner, Bro. Dan Cassens, Bro. Roy Smith, and Bro. Jim Harbuck for the hard work they performed that day. Our schedule is busy for next month also. We have an Entered Apprentice and Fellowcraft degree coming up so stay tuned. Our next regular communication is August 12th at 07:00 PM. Come early (06:00 PM) and enjoy food, friends, and fellowship. |

Two members of Buck Creek #410 were accepted and knighted into the A.A.S.R. Knights of St. Andrew on May 13, 2008. Bro. Chris Pennington and Bro. Terry Wester were both honored to be accepted by the group. Buck Creek was well represented with two members being accepted into the Knights of St. Andrew. If you are a 32º Scottish Rite Mason and are interested in this organization you can contact Brothers Chris and Terry. If you are not a 32º…there are plenty of brothers in the lodge who will be more than happy to sign a petition. The Knights of St. Andrew is a service organization developed for 32º Black Cap Members. The Principal goals of The Knights of St. Andrew are to provide an opportunity for Black Cap members to play a larger role within the Consistory during Reunions, and to help members become more active in the Consistory as a whole.
Our Blue Lodge teaches us that the principle tenets of Freemasonry are Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. As exemplified in the Scottish Rite 29th degree, we are taught the great virtues of knighthood: humility; patience; self denial; charity; generosity; clemency; virtue; truth, and; honor.
A chapter of the Knights of St. Andrew has been established in the Birmingham Valley. These 32º members who are members of the Knights of St. Andrew, Scottish Rite, Valley of Birmingham have made their commitment to promote and provide selfless dedication to our Masonic Fraternity within the Scottish Rite, our community, our jurisdiction, and state. Where Are We Headed?A new Masonic year for our lodge is soon to begin. At our next regular communications we will be voting for the officers of Buck Creek Lodge No. 410 for that new Masonic year. This coming year could be a critical one in determining the path our lodge will take for the future and how fast we will achieve our goals. During Lodge, one night, when we were actively discussing the raising of dues, a very wise brother stood up and asked the question. “What is our purpose, our vision for Buck Creek Lodge? That is what we first need to determine!” How true that statement is. You have to know where you’re going before you can start to plan a trip. So, what is our vision for Buck Creek? What is your vision for Buck Creek? |

Easter is a festival of overwhelming joy. The joy that celebrates life. Or, rather, the victory of life over death. Buck Creek Lodge plans to celebrate with the community by hosting an Easter Egg Dying Party on April 7th beginning at 11AM. Bring your kids, bring your grandkids, bring your neighbor’s kids or just bring yourself and act like a kid! Many children of today haven’t even had the experience of dying real eggs – rather plastic eggs have been substituted to make things easy. We plan to share this joy with our friends and family. Even if you regularly dye eggs at home, take this opportunity to come to Lodge and create a memory for your family, plus we’ll clean up the mess afterwards! Not only will we dye eggs, but we will be serving lunch and entertaining everyone with the famous Shrine Clowns. What could be better! |

History of the Consolidation of Helena and Corinthian Lodges Rumors, whispers and outright questioning had occurred between the Brethren of Helena Lodge No. 410 F. & A.M. and Corinthian Lodge No. 462 F. & A.M. of Alabama for many years, "Should we consolidate?” Helena Lodge had a long and glorious history beginning in the year 1876. Corinthian Lodge had an equally long and glorious history dating back to 1888. Since that time, the two Lodges had pleasantly coexisted while maintaining the utmost dedication to Freemasonry. Many joint programs and special events were enjoyed together during the many years. |

That's not a surprising question. Even though Masons (Freemasons) are members of the largest and oldest fraternity in the world, and even though almost everyone has a father or grandfather or uncle who was a Mason, many people aren't quite certain just who Masons are. (We'll look at some of these things later.) |

As published by the Masonic Renewal Committee of North America Freemasonry is the oldest, largest Fraternity in the world. It's members have included Kings, Presidents, Prime Ministers, Statesmen, Generals, Admirals, Supreme Court Chief Justices, corporate CEOs, opera stars, movie stars, and probably, your next door neighbor. And Masonry is always ready to welcome good men in the Fraternity. It's ready to welcome YOU, if in your heart you can answer"yes" to a few questions. |
